Members of the Class of 2022, their families and friends can turn to the Elon University 2022 website for complete information on this year’s graduation ceremonies and the many events planned throughout. of launch week.

The website – www.elon.edu/commencement – has been updated throughout the academic year and includes full details on launch events, ticketing information, a full schedule of activities (also listed below), information on Yearbooks, Caps, Dresses, Merchandise and Photos. In addition to providing access to information that was sent to the Undergraduate Class of 2022 and their families, visitors to the newly redesigned website will find news, photos and videos related to debut events as well as a digital #ElonGrad swag.

Launch ceremonies 2022

Beginning of the first cycle

The start of the undergraduate will take place in two in-person ceremonies on Friday, May 20 at the Schar Center. Each ceremony will last approximately two hours. The ceremonies will feature Hilary Corna ’07, best-selling author, celebrated keynote speaker and host of the “UNprofessional” podcast.

  • 9am – Graduation ceremony Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and School of Communications
  • 2 p.m. – Graduation ceremony Dr Jo Watts Williams School of Education and Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences

A ticket is required for all guests attending indoor graduation ceremonies at the Schar Center. Participating applicants will receive instructions in April for requesting tickets. See the ticket information page for more details.

Tickets are not required for additional seating in the Alumni Gymnasium (alternate viewing location). Both ceremonies will be available live on personal devices at www.elon.edu/live.

Beginning of graduate studies

This year, Elon is hosting a joint graduate program ceremony for multiple programs. Candidates for the Master of Arts in Higher Education, Master of Arts in Interactive Media, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Business Analytics and Master of Science in Management will receive their degrees at a ceremony on Wednesday May 18 at 7 p.m. at the Gymnase des Anciens.

No tickets are required for the graduation ceremony at the graduate gymnasium. For families and friends who cannot attend in person, the ceremony will be available live on personal devices at www.elon.edu/live.

Numen Lumen: Senior Baccalaureate Reflection

Under the Oaks, 7:30 p.m. (place of rain: Alumni Gym)

The Class of 2022 celebrates the end of final exams and the start of Launch Week by gathering for a special ceremony showcasing the traditions new and old where many of Elon’s journeys began, Under the Oaks. The program will include reflections from graduate elders and a distinguished faculty member, multi-faith blessings, musical performances and a candle-lighting ceremony to conclude the event. Each graduate will receive their sapling of oak tree, a symbol of the transition from student to alum at the same location where new students receive an acorn as a gift at the start of their Elon experience. This event is reserved for members of the class of 2022.

Wednesday May 18

Celebration of elders

Rhodes Stadium, 6-9 p.m.

An evening of sweet farewell for members of the Class of 2022. The event will include free food, a live DJ, games, photo ops and a late night fireworks display. Participants will register with the Office of Alumni Engagement. This event is reserved for members of the class of 2022.

Start of graduate program

Seniors gymnasium, Koury Sports Center, 7 p.m.

Candidates for the Master of Arts in Higher Education, Master of Arts in Interactive Media, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Business Analytics, and Master of Science in Management will receive their degrees at a joint graduate program ceremony.

Thursday May 19

ROTC Commissioning Ceremony (US Army)

Holt Chapel, South Campus, 11 a.m.

Reception to follow at Johnston Hall for officers and their families and invited guests.

¡Celebrating! : graduates take flight

Meeting rooms by the lake, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

A stole ceremony dedicated to celebrating the efforts and successes of Latinx/Hispanic graduates. Participants will register with the Center for Race, Ethnicity and Diversity Education.

Dean’s Receptions

Various locations, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.

Hosted by faculty from Dr. Jo Watts Williams School of Education; Elon College, the College of Arts and Sciences; the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business and School of Communications. An opportunity for candidates and their guests to spend time with faculty and staff in their fields of study. Receptions will take place at the following locations:

  • College of Arts and Sciences: Lindner Patio, Academic Village, (rain location: 1st floor Lindner Hall)
  • Martha and Spencer Love School of Business: Fountain Chandler (place of rain: 1st floor Koury Business Center)

Reception and pinning ceremony honoring Class of 2022 alumni and their families. Former graduates have parents who are former students of Elon. Participants will register with the Office of Alumni Engagement.

Threading the Kente Ceremony

Seniors gymnasium, Koury Sports Center, 6 p.m.

A rich cultural ceremony involving Kente cloth stoles imported from West Africa and celebrating the achievements of students who recognize their African roots. Participants will register with the Office of Alumni Engagement.
